Getting Started With Flows

After configuring the Klaviyo in your store and setting up all the Klaviyo settings as per your store.You can all set to create your first flow for your store. You can use the flow to engage your customer base throughout their lifecycle with your brand.A flow is a sequence of automated actions, including email and SMS messages, triggered when a person performs a specific action, such as when someone joins a list, is added to a segment, makes a purchase, or abandons their cart.

When you set up the Klaviyo account, there are some useful and impactful flows you will likely want to create and set live first to welcome subscribers to your brand and communicate with their customers about their transactions. After configuring your company details in the setup wizard, you can navigate to the Flows tab in your account. Here you will see many flow options that are best for your store. Also, these flows are pre-populated for you so that you can select and publish that flow and review your analytics of that flow.These Flows will contain default templates that provide a layout and example text. Most of these templates will be configured to pull in the content through your integration, including dynamic data that can be used to personalize your emails for your audience.

Basic or Suggested Flows

There are some flows that you must configure and set in your store. Here are the flows.

  2. Abandoned cart flow
  3. Browse-abandoned cart flow
  4. Post-Purchase flow

These are the steps to create a flow in your store and please find them below steps.

Step-1)  To create a new flow, click the Flows tab in your account’s main navigation sidebar and click the Create Flow button.


Step-2) When you click that button, you see the toolbar at the top to search flows. You can search flow through keywords (i.e., Welcome series flow) from here.


Step-3) If you want to search for a flow related to a specific eCommerce integration, choose the integration from the dropdown menu. This will then only show flows that work with your platform.

Step-4) Once you have chosen which goal-based flow to set up, click the tile to create this flow.

Step-5)  Whether you create your flow from scratch or the Flows Library, you’ll need to name your flow. You and your colleagues should easily understand the name of your flow. Because when you create the number of flows, then it will help you to Stay organized.

Once you create the flow then, you will see that flow’s structure, will see that structure, triggers and flow filters.
