Adobe discontinues Support for 2.4.0-2.4.3

What will this release have to make a huge difference? To your concern, with the release of a new eCommerce platform version, Adobe commerce support is no longer available for Magento 2.4.0 – 2.4.3.

This means that after 28th November 2022, there will be no releases to handle security issues for the versions mentioned. The only solution is to upgrade to the supported version of the software to get regular updates for your platform.

The simple strategy is to get Magento development services to move to a recent version of Adobe commerce.

What are the main highlights of this release line?

1. No official updates, patches, and Support

This means that Adobe will no longer work on Magento 2.4.0 – 2.4.3 versions. The platform will not have access to any official updates, patches, or Support. This includes security patches, bug fixes, and PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance updates.

When you use Magento 2.3 at your own risk, which enters the End of Life phase. In case of any serious vulnerabilities, bugs, security flaws, or other problems in the platform without any official fixes. But these issues become more dangerous for the eCommerce store after some time.

2. Not compatible with the Magento marketplace

Vendors and developers rely highly on the Magento marketplace to integrate the best features and functionalities. Adobe commerce supportwill not provide compatibility with the unsupported versions, and you will have extensions that are no longer functioning properly. This will lead to numerous errors in your store.

3. Security Enhancements

There are more than 20 security fixes and improvements with this release. Some of the things that are included are:

  • Use of a unique location rather than /admin
  • IP allows listing
  • Good Password Hygiene
  • Use of a VPN
  • Two-Factor Authentication
  • Integration tokes cannot be used for API Bearer token authentication
  • Addition of reCAPTCHA support to coupon codes
  • Swagger is disabled in production mode by default
  • Making the validation stronger to prevent the uploading of non-alpha-numeric file extensions

4. Provides Strong Support

The Adobe Commerce and Magento support services2.4.5 provide strong Support for:

  • Composer 2.2
  • jQueryUI (1.13.1)
  • PHPStan (^1.5.7 with constraint) GitHub 35315
  • TinyMCE (5.10.2) Earlier versions of TinyMCE (v5.9.2 or earlier) allowed arbitrary JavaScript execution when a URL or image is created

5. Business-To-Business

Adobe commerce has optimized the normalized database data required to deal with the Shared Catalogs features. This reduces the eSKU multiplication resulting in a performance boost as lesser database rows are stored. Enabling this feature enables direct product price-assigning configuration and improves product price indexer performance.

6. Magento 2.3 Documentation is removed

If you are having issues with the eCommerce store while working with Magento 2.3, fixing them won’t be easy after the release. This is because Magento removes the documentation from the website once the old Magento version is deprecated.

Even when you stick with Magento 2.3 and try to handle the issues, that will be a challenge without proper documentation.

7. Google Analytics

Adobe commerce has a great collection of built-in modules like Google AdWords, TagManager, Analytics, and Optimizer that will leverage the former API for integration with Google services. At the same time, Google has updated the tracking and integration mechanisms of AdWords and Analytics in web apps. Adobe commerce re-implemented the integration using the GTag approach in the 2.4.5 release.

Why should you get the latest version of Adobe commerce support?

  • As the email variable usage is unavailable in the older version, the idea is to bring more powerful variable syntax as a security measure. This version will remove the legacy behavior to minimize the security risks.
  • With Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 or Magento Open Source 2.4.4, email or newsletter templates compatible with the older versions are no more compatible.
  • The admin overrides, themes, templates, and child themes from the unique third-party extensions or modules are affected templates.
  • The integration tokens are no longer used to authenticate API bearer tokens. The never-expiring access tokens have some security issues, in the security which lead to deactivation by default.
  • The session IDs are not stored in the database. Instead, the database will store the OAuth access tokens and password reset tokens in an encrypted format.
  • Adobe Commerce now has HTTPS enabled by default. All the built-in cookies are configured as secure, and the Use Secure URLs in the Admin section are activated.
  • Developers can set the maximum size of arrays that the Adobe Commerce RESTful endpoints will accept.
  • Overall, Adobe offers better performance with significant improvements in the catalog, search functionality, checkout pages, and enhanced caching. Users will have a great experience with faster page loads resulting in better conversions.

The End Note!

Adobe commerce or Magento development servicesare always helping the users with performance improvement and bug fixes with the new releases. Whether you are dealing with B2B or B2C, it is high time to upgrade to the latest version and never miss a great opportunity.
